So today I start writing a book and training course on how to use Oghams as a divination tool. I’ve had so many people ask me to write this and I’ve been putting it off for more than a year but there’s no excuse now so it’s off to the keyboard I go. Hopefully this will help bring this amazing form of divination further into the mainstream alongside Tarot and the Runes and so forth. It’s such a powerful medium and although its gaining in popularity, there is very little written material about this form of alphabet and divination. So here goes!

A Witch's Day
I have another wedding to conduct this afternoon for a lovely couple and I so love having this privilege. There is something very special about bringing two people together in commitment to one another. Next year, as the Chair of CCIWI (www.cciwi.org) I hope to have CCIWI recognised as a “denomination” by the Attorney General which would mean all weddings performed as part of that would be religious rather than civil. What a huge breakthrough for Wicca that would be!

Freedom! Seriously, freedom! My last exam yesterday so now I can get back to doing client readings, to doing things I love doing, to sleeping in sometimes, to read a book, to go for a walk in the park, to be creative and play with artwork and to generally have my life back over summer. This has been such a stressful semester with a double study load and no let up on pressure all semester. I have one more year left and then I’m qualified and am so looking forward to that!

So the festive season month is upon us and it’s officially the first day of summer today. My mini Agapanthus are flowering like there’s no tomorrow as are all the other summer loving plants. We’ve only had a couple of days of “hot” weather so far so it’s still more like spring here in Adelaide rather than summer but then traditionally our really hot weather arrives in January so we still have a month of lovely warm weather to go before we hit the stinkers.
I’ve trimmed the dogs’ fur back and stripped Doofus Head’s coat so he’s not so heavily laden with hot fur. Mojo’s coat was already nicely trimmed ready for the heat but both of them already know the cool and warm spots in the house. The cats now need their coats stripped so they can feel a little more comfy too although being indoor only cats, they have the luxury of 24 hour air conditioning I guess. Bring on summer!

Darling husband gets home again this morning (probably in about 30 mins or so) and I’m so looking forward to him being here. He was supposed to fly home last night but lightening grounded all flights from the site so he had to stay at work overnight. I have him home for 5 days this time which is lovely and while I love having the house to myself when he’s away, I love it even more when he’s home.
I am so blessed to have this wonderful man in my life. Our relationship has had its dramas over the years and it would probably have made a great alternative to “Days of our Lives” but the last five years or so has been very peaceful and “normal” and I wonder if we finally recognise the wonder of our relationship and each other. Love him lots.

Darling husband comes home again tonight so that’s always something to look forward to. He’s only been away for 4 days this time but he will be away for Christmas and so I’ll probably be volunteering on the ambulances all over Christmas. I might as well given no one will be home here anyway. I don’t mind being on my own at Christmas though, the same happened last year because darling hubby was working away as well too. Given I’m not Christian, spiritually it doesn’t mean much anyway and the kids all live interstate so I can’t be with them either :( so might as well do something worthwhile.

Second to last exam this afternoon and my motivation to study is zero. I’ve already passed the subject so the exam results just raise my grade. Normally I’d be aiming for a high distinction but I’m so dam tired that I just can’t be bothered. That’s not a good attitude at all and I’m more annoyed about my attitude than I am about not actually studying to be honest!

After the last 3 months of very long study and work days, my poor veggie patch is looking like the undergrowth in the local forest. The weeds are bigger than some of the veggies. With that said, I’ve harvested broccoli which is yummy and my cucumbers are looking like they could be cut soon too. However, after next week (exams again) I can get stuck into it and pull the weeds out and give it a bit of attention.

I had a fabulous night in the forest last night with the senior members of the coven respectfully learning from the earth and the trees and the mist and the brambles and rocks how to better honour this planet and mother on which we live. Sitting silently in the darkness under the canopy, listening to the koalas, feeling the mist envelope us, sensing the ground beneath us, feeling the power lines was truly magickal. Thankyou Gaia.

Yet another sodding exam today! I’m nowhere near prepared enough for this exam and in my defence that’s hardly surprising given I’ve had 4 exams and an assessment this week and 3 more next week. That’s one hell of a lot of exams to have all in 2 weeks so exam prep has been hit and miss really.
Also, having had to do up to 5 assignments every week as well for the semester has meant there has also been very limited left over time to do any reading and studying over and above that needed for assignments so my exam prep this semester is crap to be honest. With that said, the last three weren’t too bad, even the exam from hell on Wednesday wasn’t too bad but I would really have liked to be much more prepared. I doubt there will be high distinctions this semester!
