I know full moon was a couple of days ago but given my schedule, I can't always hold Esbats on the correct evening so tonight the coven get's together and we celebrate our Gods and Goddesses with communion together. I guess this illustrates my point that while it's wonderful to have Esbats on "the night", that shouldn't necessarily be the only reason to hold a ritual. As I listen to the news of other covens, increasingly I here folk say that they have to celerbrate Esbats and Sabbats on the closest weekend rather than the actual day/night due to work and other commitments.

What's fascinating for me is that in writing up the 2010 calendar for the coven this week, I noticed how frequently Sabbats fall on, or really close to, full moon nights in that year. Normally that happens once or twice but go and check out the calendar for 2010 and see what I mean about the syncronicity of dates that year. Fascinating!
