Garden makeover finally started

Well after months of having a dead and decaying front and side garden while we waited first for baby birds to grow and fly thier nest, and then the Christmas break, the bobcat and excavator moved in this morning and levelled it all.  Old scrubby trees had to come down, the black plastic sheeting suffocating the dying soil has gone, the hidden trees roots from trees long chopped down have been removed and the old paths and arsenic laden logs are gone. Right now it looks like a barren waste land but at least it looks like we're actually doing something!

The garden plan has been designed by Cinco Gardens and is very English looking but with plants that don't drink too much water and a layout that is functional, neat and pretty. The circle area is moving from it's current location to a new spot and will be stunning with a stepping stone path to it, a stone altar in the North, a water feature in the West, wind chimes in the East and red cordelia's in the South. There will also be Fressia's and Tulips and other bulbs planted around it too so very pretty and peaceful. Fruit trees and more vegies are going in too.

I am so looking forward to gazing out my window and seeing something peaceful and pretty instead of the embarrasing and dead, dump like space that has been there for the last few months. It's going to take a few months to get it finished because of course plants cost money which I don't have so much of now I've given up work but patience is a virtue so my mother always told me (many times I seem to recall!)

Smiles and blessings, Amethyst
