The generosity of others

I am constantly amazed at the generosity of others. When a community develops and becomes supportive and caring, it's members will usually show no hesitation is supporting each other as needed. Oak and Mistletoe, both face to face and online, exhibits this frequently and it just always blows me away.

We sponsor a little 3 year old boy in Zimbabwe, all from community members donations, we are now also developing a system whereby we donate books to community members who can't afford to buy them, again all via donations. This morning, one of our members donated the prize for the current competition and what a cracker of a prize that is too! Even little things that don't cost money like a kind word for someone facing difficulty. We see this at O & M so often.

They say that after a while you should become used to things, that eventually the frequency of surprise becomes the norm but I have to say with totally honesty that I can never "get used" to the generosity of others. It still always surprises and humbles me. It motivates me to keep going, even when I'm tired. If someone else can give of themselves to help someone else, then I can do the same. These people who give are legends in my books and I never, ever want to get used to it. I always want to be surprised so that the humility and compassion remain as strong tomorow as they are today.

Thank you all of you, you are awesome!
