Lesson 1 Personal Reflections

I'm afraid that i'm not dedicated enough to writing to promise to put up a post on a regular basis, but thought that I might share some reflections on each lesson as I complete them.

While I have learnt much whilst working my way through Lesson 1, these are the things that I have found the most most profound.

The first was learning to "see" things again. Keeping notes on nature and things around me has made me look a lot closer. I'm actually amazed by this a little as I work as a visual artist and spend all day "looking" at stuff, but there's a big difference between just "looking" and documenting and really seeing and feeling the things around you.

I've also learnt to take a little more notice of what I dream. I'm beginning to recognise connections between what I have seen and felt each day and the energies of others I come into contact with and what goes through my dreams at night.    I have learnt/been reminded to become more mindful of what I say and do. That what we do/say to ourselves has a follow on effect to others. I'm not always successful, I have had a few instances where I have blurted out things that I have later realised were not particularly mindful, either to myself or others but I am seeing the connection more obviously between what we "put out" and what goes on around/within us. This may also have something to do with the journaling because if you write it down you cannot simply dismiss it or forget it.

Some other things I have learnt this month, do not do  visualistions that involve amazing meals  when hungry and others are in the house... they laugh at you if you drool and your stomach rumbles... do not try and explain the word "polytheastic" and why some people are to your nine year old niece who thinks you're old and weird at the best of times and do not try and write in your dream journal immediatly on waking if the cat is hungry... he won't let you.

Excellent start

Merry Meet Seren Artwytch,

What a beautiful start to a wonderful path. It never fails to revitalize me to be able to see the beginnings of a spiritual journey through the eyes of a new student. Thank you for posting.

If at any time you feel the need to discuss any point in a lesson or in general, you will find the students and staff more than willing to lend a hand, myself included. Always remember you are not on this path alone, many have gone before us and cleared a beautiful path so we don't have to stumble, reach out, there is always a hand there to assist.
