Athame - Making Your Own
The athame (pronounced a-tha-me) is probably the most important tool of any for a Wiccan or Witch and certainly the most sacred tool in a collection. Traditionally, it’s a black handled, double edged dagger, usually no more than about 12 inches long and often has runes, Craft related or personal symbols engraved or burnt into the wooden handle.
Athame - Lorelei
Lorelei is a handcrafted athame, completely hand carved by our amazing athame artist Brendan, right here in Australia. Inspired by the sea and tales of mermaids, Brendan has carved Lorelei's handle from Australian Wattle (Acacia Melanoxylon) and made it's blade in his own workshop. The overall length is 305mm (12”) and it weighs 220g (8oz).
This is your chance to partner with a very special, absolutely unique athame which has been lovingly crafted by an amazing blacksmith and artist. You won't find an athame like this anywhere else in the world.
Athame - Remember
Light green suede is an unusal colour for the handle of an athame and Remember certainly feels unusually magickal. His cheeky, almost childlike energy radiates warmth, sincerity and peace. The wooden handle has been wrapped with light green suede and the athame has a playful sense of secrecy to it.
Rememer's overall length is 28cm (11 inches) with the steel blade at 18.5 cm (7.25 inches). The blade is bevelled but blunt for safety and the hilt and pommel are both brass.
Athame - Season's End
Season's End feels and looks much lighter than the other athames even though he is exactly the same length, size and weight. He seems to need a female human partner rather than a male and is quite gentle and quiet in nature. His wooden handle been carefully wrapped with purple and dark green suede.
His overall length is 28cm (11 inches) with the steel blade at 18.5 cm (7.25 inches). The blade is bevelled but blunt for safety and the hilt and pommel are both brass.

Getting creative with the athames
It's been a long time coming but finally I have a bunch of athames to play with and decorate for customers as the creative whim takes me. I think I might wrap some handles with copper, maybe burn some sigils in others, engrave the blade on others, add crystals to some others, perhaps a bit of leather as well... creative juices flowing now!
Smiles and blessings, Amethyst

The athames are coming - I promise!
Yes I know I said the athames were coming about two weeks ago but honestly, they're nearly here! Organising Customs and then Quarantine has taken longer than expected but looks like we finally have success with the shipment arriving on my doorstep in 2 days time.
When they arrive, I want to do some markings on some with O & M sigils and so forth, decorate some of the handles in other ways and bless them in circle before allowing them to go off to their new homes.
