Merry Meet Everyone I am new here!!!
Merry Meet Everyone,
Just thought I would say Hello and introduce myself. My name is Brianna and I am female and 47yo, am happily married with 2 daughters 20 and 25 and an adorable grandson who is nearly 3.
I have been interested in different religions and belief systems all of my life. I have always held a fascination for other peoples cultures as well. I was brought up an Anglican and went to a Catholic School. Dabbled in New Ageism. Studied Islam & Arabic for awhile. Studied Tibetan Buddhism quite seriously & nearly converted. Then tried a few new age things like Reiki & TA. I then read a couple of great books on Wicca & Witchcraft & some magazines & was fascinated by the pagan way of life. Unfortunately due to my life's journey at that time, I was unable to keep on with that.
Later I felt drawn to Buddhism again along with some New Age things but I kept on being drawn to the Wicca/witchcraft section of the bookshops. I felt completely drawn to being a witch and the more books I read, the more I realised it was definitely what I wanted to be. I just wish I had started much sooner. I've also recently found out that my maternal great grandmother was a witch from Scotland & also the town's midwife & known as the village wisewoman. My maternal grandmother was also psychic. So I have been fascinated to find out all of this.
I have been practising as a Solitary Witch for nearly 8 months now and did a self dedication back in November's full moon. It felt so right and despite my health issues I felt cleansed and at one with the universe etc. However I know enough to know that I have alot to learn and the only reason I have not joined a Coven locally is because I can't find one. Where I live on the Yorke Peninsula is very conservative to say the least.
So I searched online and found the wonderful Oak and Mistletoe. So here I am, ready to learn and broaden my horizons. I love nothing more than to sit outside at night sometimes and commune with the Moon Goddess and nature in general.
I really look forward to doing this course.

I found the same thing happening to me - being drawn to Wicca and witchcraft books, but couldn't find a coven either. Luckily I found O&M. I wish I had started sooner too, but it seems a lot of us don't find the time till our children grow up.

Hi there, I have just discovered Wicca too, and also live on the Yorke Peninsula - in Wallaroo. If you aren't too far away I would love to get to know someone with similar interests. As you said most people here are pretty conservative. I'll tell you a bit about myself. I grew up on a station, 300km from Alice Springs. This inspired in me a deep appreciation for nature. I have always felt her spirit and love. I read about Wicca about twelve years ago and felt a great connection to it, but there was a lot upheaval in my life back then and did not get into it. I have just started reading about Wicca again and everything I've read I love. I love the idea of ritual to connect with the Gods and Goddesses. I love that it can be such an intergral part of our daily lives. I love that we honour our connection to nature. I love the openess of this religion. There's more, but they're the main things. Hi Brianna , reading your introduction was like looking inwards at my own life! We have many things in common. I too am a solitary witch and do not belong to a coven. I started being interested at a very early age due to things happening to me that I did not understand as I was so young. It wasnt until I was older that I realised my abilities were handed down from my mother who has pyschic abilities and these too are from her scottish heritage. It can be difficult when you do not have anyone to share these thoughts and feelings with. I am glad that you have been directed to this site and I hope that you find many happy moments here.
