I love this topic, I can't wait to read what lessons that we all have to share, yay. My belly is getting butterflies just knowing that there are gonna be so many great posts, and everyone of them will be a lesson for me; as well as the 13yr. old person. I know my lesson already, but I want to think about the words I need to use. It's like we get to teach and learn all at once.
Anyway, thankyou DM, your the greatest!

In case anyone wants feed back on those wands I have bought them and they are truly sensational, it didn't take long at all for them to charge with my energy and the names have really stuck for me. I bought "known" and "Wyrd Magick" I love them both, but Wyrd is alot more fun ! Sturdy little fellow he is , hehe, and known is more feminine, very gentle and loving and very graceful - a very light energy and airy feel :) I also have an Athame, her name is Rhiannon! Very special Magickal item and I still think about her all the time! hehe, so I have a girl and a boy wand, (plus I'm "Stilllll" making one - but not as beautiful as these two from the shop) and a girl Athame! The Athame is known to be a male energy, but I just can't interpret mine as masculine energy... she is one with the moon!
Sorry I didn't answer the question first I am still all excited about my Wands and Athames :)
Since I'm here I will answer :
I would pass on the knowledge to "love and be happy with thy self" - The special person would remember to always be happy with themselves in sickness or health for this personal happiness is what will always light the path ahead.
That's it, not much but I think it is a very special gift "To Like Yourself"
be Happy and Satisfied with the Self.
(Like and Love is not to be mis-interpreted as Vanity! lol [ :o )

When I read this competition I immediately thought of my five year old grandson being 13..... my heart flipped and tears stung my eyes at the thought of one day not being here to see him grow into a wonderful, strong young man. (As far as I know, I am healthy and not about to die, well not just yet anyway..)
I would pass on to him the importance of Truth. There is so much bull dust in this world, from certain people in it, to the media, advertising, ignorance and so forth that most people live their lives with their eyes shut tight. I would encourage him to open wide his eyes and take in every little detail. I would remind him of our wonderful converstions about anything and everything. Most of all I would ask him to always speak his truth.
I would leave him with this knowing he would treasure it forever;
T = Trust, your inner feelings and thoughts and act upon them without hesitation
R = Respect, your self always and of course others as well as the planet and every living thing upon it
U = Understanding, by always trying to listen to the other persons point of view with compassion
T = Time, take a few moments of your time each day to smell the roses and to meditate
H = Humour, always look for the positive from a negative situation and remember that tomorrow is another day which will bring about new adventures, fun and laughter
I think all of us have an instinctual and evolutionary need to pass on wisdom to the next generation, I consulted my guides before posting the question and they were most emphatic about the recepient being a 13 yr old. I wonder if they had you in mind?? Who knows what goes through their Higher Consciousness?

Good luck to all other entries for this interesting question.
Indeed we are all instinctual and evolutionary messengers, if not to the next generation but to each one in this generation too.
And yes, the guides can be cheeky at times. A reminder for us mortals to maintain a healthy sense of humour, I know it has certainly helped me through trying times.
Facing your mortality and leaving ur child/s behind at a young age.... im already getting teary! ..(im a real sook when it comes to leaving my kids behind! :''''''''( .. but it hasnt happened ....YET .... LMAO)
Spiritual lesson 1- it may seem as if u dont have all the answers and the world gets hard and heavy u can even find it hard to breathe or its the end of the world feeling!, but all you need to do if follow ur heart. It can be hard at times, and sometimes even seems wrong, but with true pure intentions follow your heart and all will work out eventually, just remember sometimes it takes time to see how it worked out, its never the end; even when ur standing next to me; looking down at the world at our feet.
Practical lesson- meditate, everyday, as long as you need, or even if its for a few seconds, calm yourself, talk to yourself, laugh at yourself! and BREATHE ..sounds easy but it can be hard at time, its also easy to loose sight of who you are and what your dreams are, by meditating you will always go to back to your roots, then follow spiritual lesson 1.. and once you have REPEAT the process over and over and over!......
:) i think that is me covered... im sure that i will always pop in on my kids even if im not here physically to do it LOL and when needed im sure i can slap them across the back of the head when they are being silly! no matter where my energies are in the universe! LMAO... they can never get rid of me *insert evil but loving laugh here!*
I completely agree with your advice about meditation. There is no other road to higher learning or enlightenment without it.
And in the 21st century it is indeed enlightening that we have discovered that one can meditate while walking the dog, doing the dishes or having a bath. The time of meditating in a chair with incense is still valid but now only one option from a multitude.
Thanks for your OUTSTANDING answer
Love you

_It’s all in your head. You just have no idea how big your head is_____________________________________________________________________________________
What a wonderful topic for a competition..I have to agree the tears do spring to the eyes just thinking of leaving a loved one..But the one spiritual lesson I would like to pass on is... Self love in a world full of depression, and lack of self belief. I would say to my 13yr old to always look within and listen to that little voice that flutters in the belly, that small voice that burns brightly waiting to be encouraged. When the world is a dark place, and they are bombarded by what and how they should look, dress and act too remember, they are loved not only by their earthly family but also surround in love by their divine spiritual family... One spiritual lesson I would pass on is meditation/visulization to take the time to be silent and listen to what is going on around them both in nature and themselves for it is only when we look within ourselves do we truly find the answers to the questions we need..

I have a 10 year old granddaughter that has been dedicated to pick whatever religion she wants when she is old enough to. I would begin by telling her of all my experences in the religions Iv'e known and let her read up on them or explain the best I can about them. Then I'd explain to her why I picked Wicca, because of the Goddesses and Gods and the nature of the religion and how I was drawn to it. She already knows about Wicca to a certain point and is interested so is my 5 year old granddaughter. They both love nature and what it has to offer.
I would tell her to go with her intuition and her heart. What she feels that is calling her God or More than one God. I would explain the Laws and Rede and how everything is of nature and its laws. And let her decide from there. I'd answer any questions she would have on any religion. Hopefully she will pick what is right for her and I would not discourage her on whatever it may be. I would tell him to not be afraid, don't be afraid to be yourself, don't be afraid to love freely and fully (including yourself), don't be afraid to feel any emotion that presents itself, don't be afraid to question.
I would also tell him that the spiritual practice that I recommend would be Believe; believe in your self, believe in at least one deity whichsoever they may be, believe in nature and the world around you, believe in the universe and know that there is a place for you in it.
For me these are the most important lessons that I have learnt since I was 13 and I learnt them the really hard way, no matter what we tell a 13 year old they are going to dismiss 80% of it and remember 100% of it once they've learnt it for themselves but I would rather take that 20% chance that he will remember than not tell him at all. No one told me these things, they simply told me to remember that they always love me, something I tell my son everyday.
What a great question. Already some great answers. It's something I've been thinking about as my grandson is about to turn 13 and I would like to pass some knowledge on to him that would help him in his life. I'll have to think a bit sooner now and will post when I have done that.
The knowledge that I would pass on is; I have lived a full life and am happy with the lessons "I" have learned, but my journey is not yet finished, and II have to move on to continue my search. There will always be more knowledge to be gained.
I would say to live "your" life the best way you can, be kind to others, and mindful of what your actions could lead too. I cannot teach you anything else for life is a lesson that you must learn on your own. Please do not forget to learn from your mistakes, because you must make them to gain knowledge. We are all going to the same place, but we have to find our own path to get there.
This life is not all.

TWILIGHT RAIN, TO YOU I SEND LOVE AND LIGHT TO GO WITH YOU TROUGH YOUR PLIGHT :)
my answer to one spiritual lesson would be i would tell them not to judge people and to always step in their shoes and see their point of view and opinions, this is a point i feel too many people do not think of in todays society. too many people still judge a book by its cover. i would tell them that 'to kill a mockingbird' by Harper Lee is what they should read to understand and use this lesson for them to use their heart within the world and do good whether its an act of kindness or a gut reaction to a situation.
my answer to one practical lesson would be to vizulise of the past and present so they can help within nature as it is part of the Goddess and needs to be cared for like our ancestors did, to grow our own produce, care for the wildlife, do not kill animals for sport only food.to be thankful for want we are given and give back to the earth.
my parting word would be do not weep for i am returning to the earth and the Goddess, be joyous and celebrate.
This is such a good question, and I love reading the answers, tears and smiles come all at once simultaneously. The emotions it causes to race through my body let me know I am alive and feeling what I am supposed to :)
Very deep. This is going to be soooo hard to judge again.

I did have half a dozen things pop into my head when I saw this and they have been said by people already! But then I thought, everyone has a different idea as to what being a better person is and how to learn better.
With that in mind, I would probably say, find your own path, one that works for you and have the courage to stick to it, in full knowledge of what your path is and why you are on it, and also, with respect for other ideas about spirituality. Only 'you' know what is within your head and what you need. Only 'you' know if your needs are being met. Finding the right spiritual path gives you all the things that I thought if initially; self belief, self love, confidence in yourself and your own abilities and the strength to walk a path that may not be understood by others. People are highly individual, so don't be swayed by what others deem the truth.
As for practice, I would advise meditation, as it allows you to listen to your inner voice and suports the above idea nicely. If you listen to yourself, you know what you need and are much more able to meet those needs and be happier within yourself and life.
Life is a journey, as it has been said, and a highly individual one at that. As long as you are true to yourself, it doesn't necessarily matter what happens in your life. Know why you are doing things, know who you are. Individuality is there to be celebrated; spirituality helps you to celebrate yours. As such, finding a path that fits, is one of the most important things you can do.
I hope that makes sense and isn't too rambling!
