Out of body experiences

The other day in the early hours of the morning whilst lying in bed after being up and about for

a few hours, I was in the inbetween state of waking and sleeping. I was concious of my whole

body starting to twitch, and when my head and neck followed I can clearly remember thinking that

I could be having a fit, and to make a point of ringing the doctor when I got up. The next instant, my body

felt as though it had been yanked out of itself. I was somewhere specific but wont go into that, and floatin

/flying. When I finally relaxed from the exhileration and decided to let myself experience the experince so to

speak, I literally slammed back into my body. Any how, I repeated this process a further 2 times at will and enjoyed tghe

enjoyed them totally. But what is the point in all of that??? I have tried to experience this again, but no go.

Is there potential here? Any thoughts? Thanking you in advance

Greetings Wildflower. It

Greetings Wildflower.
It sounds like Astral Traveling. This is definately something that has potential!
I've had simialr experiences when I was physically exhausted, but probably not as vivd as you describe.
It might be worth investigating books on Astral Traveling and start a practice?
Meditation and practice are the only things that will help this.

Blessed Be.

Astral Travelling

Greetings Raincloud. Thanks for your reply. I thought awhile about your comment on your being your being physically exhausted when you travelled, and very interestingly the day prior to the night of travel, I had spent several hours with a family member "clearing" old traumas and emotions from our early child and adulthood and was mentally and emotionally exhausted that day.

Yes , think I will search out a few books, and do some meditation and thanks again Raincloud, Merry part ........... am interested to check out your journal, have a great week.

Sounds pretty amazing

Sounds pretty amazing Wildflower. I can't say I have even been astral travelling but I would also reccommend that you look into it, do your research. Astral travel can be pretty heady from what you've reported and the last thing you want to do is lose control and discover you can't go back!

Good luck with tyour learning, let us know how you go, this could be the beginning of an amazing journey for you!

Hi Wild Flower I used to do

Hi Wild Flower

I used to do it all the time until I had my first daughter.  I used to love it.  I've recently started doing it again and it is awesome.  When you come round again, remind me to lend you a great book I have on astral travelling.

Love and blessings

When I was young I often made sleep trips, floating around the house, or even just "walking' several inches off the floor

I loved it and wanted to make these trips every night...I once meditated so deeply too that I visited my guides that was surreal but facinating...I stopped these visits quite awhile ago but long for them again...I recieved a reiki treatment from a friend several years ago now and I felt myself rising out of my body, it was so exciting but I got a little scared so I came back...but you never know there might be another opportunity some time...Interesting though isn't it?

astral travel

i have done it only that i can recal. Same thing, i was between awake and asleep, it was not contrived or invited. i lifted up above my body in my room and saw myself laying there. with no intention of having this happen, nor any knowledge of what it was i instictivly yelled out nooooooo and was slammed backwards into my own body again from someplace near my ceiling. my then husband was lying next to me the whole time asleep. i even woke him and asked did he feel anything because i actually felt my body sink into the bed and bounce back up from the impact of returning. he siad no.

Ive thought about this many times since ( it was years ago now ) and remember doing some reasearch online at the time about astral travel, its uses and meathods to create the happening. I desided at that time tho that i feared more the unknowing of what could or might  happen to my body while away to take it further. I tend to follow my gut insticts on this for myself to this day ' noooooooooooooooooh '. Perhaps one day i will feel strong enough and safe enough and knowlegable enough to visit the possibilities again, who knows.

Out of body experience.

This is a fascinating topic, it's incredible to read of other peoples experiences with this. I can relate to this also. Many years ago the same thing happened to me, laying in bed, I had been meditating for a while trying to imagine my body was very heavy, like lead, sinking into the bed. Then after a while, I imagine myself being released from that weight and being as lite as a feather, I've used this relaxation technique many times, but on one occassion I had the same experience some of you have described. I literally came out of my body and it felt like I was floating about one metre above the bed. It scared the life out of me and I 'fell' right back down on to the bed. The floating or 'flying' sensation was incredible, for the brief moment I did it. I've never been able to do it again since. I wonder what would happen if I didn't freak out and just let myself float? I think that's what scared me at the time. An incredible experience. Something I'd love to do again.
