Out of the broom closet
Merry meet every one,
My name is Morganawillow and I am new to this, although I joined last year. I have had a problem coming out of the broom closet. I have been a solitary Witch for over 40years and my Catholic family has never known.. my lovely and mystical secret to myself. I am now of mature age and would like to become an active member, and make lots of new friends. It would be wonderful if there is anyone out there from southwest Victoria. However with the power of internet travel anything is possible.
My interests are in herbal medicine, drawing and painting, gardening, craft work (sewing, embroidery) Knitting and crochet. I love animals and nature. My best friend and constant companion,is Rosy my Garfield look a like cat.

I thankyou all, for your welcome. Sorry for not replying sooner but I have been in hospital for an operation (womens complaint). I am glad to be back home again, and I be myself again. Though I did some fairy card readings in my hospital ward for other ladies.

I have been revealing myself gradually and choose the people I tell carefully. I am also planning to plant flowers In the design of the a pentacle.....in the front yard. I also give fairy card readings. Usually people come through my friends. I grow my own herbal tea plants and this generates discussion, especially when I tell people the benefits they can have with herbal teas. So I kinda do whichy things and in private I have my rituals and meditations, but have not yet come right out ...but nearly. Maybe next full moon.

Hi, Morganwillow, So nice to meet you; first I would like to say that I don't think that you "have" to respond to every single post. I usually read the posts as they come in and then reply to them all in one post. Of course, that's just my opinion, and it saves some time. If you want to respond to all of them I definatley feel that you should. Again, this is just my silly little opinion.
I understand the stigma about coming out; especially to certain people. I let my parents and kids know right off bat, and my father keeps telling me that I better not bring any evil spirits in the house. lol. Yeah, he''s the type that think we do animal sacrifices and such, but I'm slowly educating him on that. The rest of the family is fine with it, but they also think it's just a phase I'm going through.
As far as my friends, I haven't yet told them, but I live my path right in front of them, so they probably know that I am a wiccan, but they don't want to ask. When I feel ready I will share. I don't cast spells or anything like that in front of them, but I openly do tarot, and have on my pentacle necklace; Of course I have all sorts of candles and crystals around my house. (just because I have this stuff doesn't neccesarily mean I'm wicca though), I am. What's funny, and keeping me from telling them is the looks I get from them. Just so slightly a look of "huh" comes across some of their faces. I don't get upset; it actually gives me a giggle.
One more thing, when I did let my mother know I took the time to tell her what being wiccan and/or pagan is. Like most people she had her preconceptions of what she thought it was. Once I broke it down to her she was pleasantly suprised, and actually was a bit interested in it herself.
So anyway welcome I'm glad that you took time to come out of the closet so we could chat. lol. Can't wait to see you in the forums.

Lovely to meet you morganawillow. I actually have a lot of the same interests as you, I cross stitch, scrapbook, knit, crochet etc and my husband and I have a small veggie and herb garden in the back yard. I do live in Victoria but sadly I am more in the eastern side. My family are all christian too but have a vague idea of what I am and my grandmother is very openminded so I am lucky in that respect. It must have been very hard for you to be in the broom closet for so long, so I am sure you are enjoying your first gulps of new found freedom :)

merry meet morganawillow, i too keep my faith to myself, not everyone is as open minded and accepting as us, my beliefs may be secret to all but one, but they are my strength no other religion has touched me like wicca did, from the beginning it felt right. hoping you are recovering from your little op and looking at life anew.

My intro. is a bit late, but never mind :o better late than never as they say!
It's a pleasure to meet you, and oh! readings in hospital...... so your coming out slowly, lol. I am in the same position as you and am in no rush to announce it, I find that everyone already knows it's just that religion and politics are such controversial subjects they are sometimes just both better left alone......? You will enjoy your journey with Oak and Mistletoe, I truly am and it is such a nice and comforting place to be.
btw, I'm in Sydney, so not to far away :)
