One of the things I find fascinating is where we get our creativity from. Pagans are so dam talented! What stimulates our spiritual creativity? Where do we get our spiritual ideas from? What inspires us to create Tarot decks and spiritual paintings, and books and even things like veggie patches and compost heaps to save rubbish?
Most Pagans have a love of their planet of course. It's our mother, our home, our Goddess and she cares for us and we need to respect and care for her. That's mechanical though, that's common sense (although large corporations and governments don't seem to have much common sense or environmental responsibility but that's another story). Having a veggie patch reduces carbon emissions from transporting vegetables to the supermarket, a compost heap helps reduce damaging and mounting waste.
All common sense stuff, but it's not "inspired" like perhaps a breathtaking spiritual painting or awe inspiring like some Pagan based books can be. So outside this common sense stuff like reducing waste and veggie patches, the wonder that is spiritual creativity is amazing. How talented are Pagans! We create stunningly beautiful candles, mandalas, beautiful poetry and written works, wands and athames that are breathtaking, paintings that stop you in mid tracks, jewellery and other works of art that are nothing short of exquisite and so often it's in the name of, or as a tribute to, the Gods and Goddesses.
The Divine inspires me, the baby bird in the nest takes my breath away, the miracle of a new leaf as it unfurls on a tree, the absolute magic that is a baby born, the beauty of a sunset in the desert, the sound of a child's laughter, the unparalleled feeling as a loved one holds you tight. All these things and more are the face of my Goddess and inspire me every day just to live, let alone create spiritual works of art.
What inspires you? Where does your spiritual creativity come from?
Smiles and blessings, Amethyst
