One of the things that new students often ask me is how to protect themselves from the negative energies of others around them. As an example, just this morning one of my work colleagues (who is also a massage therapist and has a real empathy with energy movements) asked how she could best emotionally protect herself from a domineering, unsympathetic and belligerent boss. Psychic protection is often similar to, and connected with, emotional protection because if you feel good then you’re in a better position to attract positive rather than negative energies. Furthermore, when you feel sad, upset, angry or frightened, you’re much more likely to attract negative energies and have the anger and frustrations of others ‘stick to you’. So what do you do about that? 

Well, there’s two really easy ways to help protect yourself from someone else’s sludgy energies or even from the really nasty stuff like other people’s tempers and tantrums or simply dark forces that make you feel very uncomfortable. The first, and softer approach, is the egg shell protection and like the second protection method is really easy to do. 

Egg Shell Protection

You might think of egg shells being very delicate and quite easily broken, well not this one! Make sure you’ve drawn into yourself all the white light and pure energy that you need using your normal method. (This may be from the earth below you or from breathing in pure, clean energy with each in-breath.) Make sure you’ve cleansed your aura so that you’re brimming with white light and that your aura is clean, fresh and sparkling.
Now imagine yourself cocooned inside an egg. See the egg shell surrounding you with both you and your aura safely tucked up comfortably inside it. Feel the pure softness of the yellow yolk flowing through and around you and bathe in the protection and comfort of the clear egg white. You’re being nurtured within the safety and womb of the egg. 

Now imagine that the shell of the egg is made of Kevlar, and while it’s light and fine, its strength is so immense that it could stop a bullet. Nothing can get through it unless you let it. You look closer and see that your Kevlar shell is actually made of a sieve like structure with tiny one millimetre holes all the way through it. The holes have been designed to let through only good, positive energy so that you can stream white energy and love to others and they can stream it back to you because that wonderful clean, fresh and pure energy can fit easily through those tiny holes. However, and here’s the true strength of your egg shell protection, the holes are too small to let through the bigger particles of negative, dark and unwanted energies.
So when that impatient boss, or the nasty neighbour or the darker energy force comes crashing toward you, its energy simply can’t penetrate your Kevlar egg shell. The holes that let through good energies are too small to let through anything unwanted! You’re protected, your safe and you’re still bathing and luxuriating in the comfort and love of your egg yolk. 

The Mirror Ball

When you need an instant and much more hard-hitting protection mechanism, the mirror ball is a great way to go. With practice, you can get this one up instantly whenever you might need it. It’s great to be able to have the time to bring white light into yourself and cleanse your aura but usually when you need the mirror ball, there isn’t enough time to do those preliminaries. 

So whenever you’re faced with some real anger, even danger and some frightening people, events or energies, see yourself cradled inside a mirror ball. Make sure it completely surrounds you and that it’s clean and bright and shiny. Nothing can get through your mirror ball at all regardless of good or bad. It is completely solid and strong and rigid.  

Notice that it reflects everything around it and energy and emotions from others may head towards the mirror ball but as soon as they hit it, no matter where they come from, those nasty emotions, that anger, that dark and frightening behaviour just bounces right back to the source. The mirror ball is exactly that, a mirror that reflects everything that comes towards it.. All the bad stuff someone throws at you bounces straight back at them while you remain safe and warm and comfortable cocooned within the safety of the mirror ball. What this also means is that whoever or whatever aims some darker words or behaviours your way simply cops their own sludge straight back again psychically just as the law of return suggests. What’s even more fantastic though is that if anyone sends some good energies your way, that bounces back and makes them feel good too! 

Make sure to practice both these protection strategies so that you can generate the shields when you need them. They can be invaluable at work, at home, socially and in the circle.
